Professional Background
Research Interests: Dr Kitch has an interest in hearing and balance disorders and has done clinical and basic science research in these areas. Research topics include Meniere’s Disease, Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss, and Analysis of Vestibular Function tests.
Teaching: Dr Kitch has been training MUSC Family Practice residents in Otolaryngology since 1999 and has been awarded “Teacher of the Year”.
Continuing Education: In addition to required continuing medical education, recent training courses include: Sleep Medicine Board review, Balloon Sinuplasty certification, Update on Medical and Surgical Treatment of Sleep Apnea, Pillar Implant certification, Update on Otology and Middle Ear Techniques.
South Carolina Sleep Medicine: Dr Kitch is one of only a few otolaryngologists in the state who are board certified in sleep medicine and he is a partner in this state-of-the-art facility in Summerville.
